After teasing her latest project over the past year, Reese Witherspoon has finally launched her new Southern-inspired retail site Draper James, making her the next actress turned entrepreneur to join the elite, website-launching lady club currently comprising fellow blondes Blake Lively and Gwyneth Paltrow.
At the moment, Draper James is exclusively digital. But the brand has plans to open its first brick-and-mortar store in Witherspoon’s native Nashville, Tennessee, later this fall.
Described on its Instagram page as “a retail brand focusing on fashion, accessories, & home décor,” the preppy label is just as charming as Witherspoon herself. Named after her grandparents, Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon, the label hopes to sell not just clothes but the Southern way of life. “Pretty please — it’s not just a way to get what you want. It’s a lifestyle,” touts the actress in a welcoming video on the site’s “About” page. The Hot Pursuit actress continues, “Draper James is all about the grace and charm that I was raised with growing up in Nashville, Tennessee.”
Every Southern staple, from polka dot and gingham stationary ($30), to monogrammed cardigans ($185), and even a “Totes Y’all” canvas tote bag ($155) can be found on the site, along with blog posts about Southern living from Witherspoon herself.
