Relativity’s Earth to Echo, Dave Green‘s movie about a group of kids who find an alien who needs their help, will have its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, which runs June 11-19 in downtown Los Angeles.
Earth, which will be released theatrically July 2, will screen June 14 as part of a day of family programming. That day’s schedule also will include Gravity Falls Live!, with actors Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal and creator/executive producer Alex Hirsch taking part in a live reading of a scene from the upcoming Disney Television Animation series. Doug Jones, associate director of programming for the fest, will conduct a Q&A with the participants.
Festival organizers also announced today that composer Emilio Kauderer will speak at the Future Filmmakers Luncheon on June 14.
On June 15, the festival and the Dolby Institute will hold Dolby’s The Sound of Your Story: A Case Study of Comet, with director Sam Esmail and his sound team, who will discuss creating the soundtrack for the film Comet, which is having its world premiere at the festival.
And on June 17, the festival will screen ESPN Films’ Nine for IX: Short Takes on the Power of Women Athletes, ESPN’s latest series of shorts that shine the spotlight on women athletes, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
