‘Bad Girl’ makes good
Bad Girls Club alum Tanisha Thomas has signed with CAA. She has become the Oxygen series’ breakout star, first becoming a member of its season two cast in 2007 before going on to feature in spinoffs Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too and Tanisha Gets Married. She also has participated in VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and Lifetime’s Girlfriend Intervention. This September she will host NBCUniversal’s syndicated clip show Crazy Talk with New York Live’s Ben Aaron. Thomas continues to be managed by Lindsay Rielly at Continuum Entertainment Group.

Not a bad run
Freshly minted Tony nominee Lydia Leonard has signed with ICM Partners. Her Broadway debut in the 5½-hour Wolf Hall: Parts One & Two as the doomed Anne Boleyn, a role she originated at Stratford-upon-Avon and then the West End, have earned both Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best featured actress in a play. The British actress previously portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy in Onassis on the West End and also appeared in The Royal National Theatre’s Time and the Conways and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Hecuba. Her screen credits include The Fifth Estate and TV series Da Vinci’s Demons, Law & Order: UK and the BBC telepic adaptation of The 39 Steps. She will soon be seen as Virginia Woolf in the BBC miniseries Life in Squares.
A pair of pickups
Television director Scott Winant has signed with UTA. He was previously with CAA. The two-time Emmy winner (for Thirtysomething) most recently helmed an episode of new Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie, as well as ABC’s Agent Carter and HBO’s Tim Robbins–Jack Black dark comedy The Brink. His lengthy credits also include HBO’s True Blood, FX’s Fargo, AMC’s Breaking Bad, Showtime’s Californication and Huff and ABC’s My So-Called Life. He continues to be represented by Hansen Jacobson.
UTA also has signed Mexican actress Aislinn Derbez. The daughter of Mexican superstar Eugenio Derbez (also repped by UTA) starred in Pantelion’s recent romantic comedy A la mala, which has become one of Mexico’s top 10 most successful films at the box office. Her other notable credits include the romance El cielo en tu mirada and the TV series Los Heroes del Norte and Gossip Girl: Acapulco, and last fall she appeared in Calvin Klein’s first Mexican campaign. She continues to be managed by Vision Entertainment.
Another offspring of note
Mozart in the Jungle’s Hannah Dunne has signed with Paradigm. The daughter of Griffin Dunne (and granddaughter of Dominick Dunne) is a series regular on Amazon series. Her previous appearances include fellow odes to New York Frances Ha and FX’s Louie.
APA goes Dutch
Dutch director Roel Reiné has signed with APA. His 17th century wartime epic Admiral, co-starring Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance, is an ode to Dutch hero Admiral Michiel de Ruyter and has accordingly earned box office love in The Netherlands. A Los Angeles resident since 2005, Reine’s extensive action-movie resume includes pulling double duty as cinematographer on all his films. He continues to be represented by Circle of Confusion, which is producing his next project, Smart Bullets, with Myriad Pictures, and Morris Yorn.
