Entering the pipeline
CAA has signed filmmaker Alexis Korycinski. As part of Ryan Murphy’s Half program for female directors and directors of color, she helmed the penultimate episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Roanoke. She also is a member of the Warner Bros. Emerging Film Directors Workshop’s first class, and previously was part of AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women and the Fox Global Directors initiative.
A drama fellow on Homeland, Korycinski directed the shorts Bambina and The Haircut, the latter of which has won 12 awards. She continues to be represented by manager Matt Horwitz at Echo Lake and by attorney Rick Genow at Stone Genow.

CAA also has signed God’s Own Country star Josh O’Connor, who played the repressed sheep farmer who develops a relationship with a Romanian itinerant worker in the film, which earned director Francis Lee the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance this year. THR’s David Rooney praised O’Connor as “terrific at conveying…guardedness and bruised solitude.”
O’Connor’s other credits include Florence Foster Jenkins, Disney’s live-action Cinderella and Lone Scherfig’s The Riot Club. He currently stars in PBS’ The Durrells in Corfu. O’Connor continues to be represented by agent Claire Maroussas at the U.K.’s Independent Talent Group.
All eyez on him
Newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. has signed with publicity firm 42West ahead of his debut in the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me, which Lionsgate will release June 16. 42West also has signed 2 Broke Girls co-creator Whitney Cummings, who will make her directorial debut with feature The Female Brain, and beauty and lifestyle blogger Marianna Hewitt.
Screaming to be seen
Arrow’s Juliana Harkavy, who plays Dinah Drake (aka. the next Canary) on season five of the CW superhero drama, has signed with Wallman PR. Wallman PR also has signed sales and distribution company Imagination Worldwide, which has acquired Amber Tamblyn’s directorial debut, Paint It Black.
