From ‘The O.C.’ to N.A. (New Agencies)
Cam Gigandet, who recurred on The O.C. as Marissa Cooper’s love interest and eventual killer, has signed with UTA. The actor is now toplining CBS’ summer crime drama Reckless and recently finished shooting the indie psychological thriller Broken Vows, opposite Wes Bentley and Jaimie Alexander. His other film credits include Priest, Burlesque, Easy A and Twilight, in which he played the first installment’s big bad. He was previously with WME. Ironically, Gigandet’s O.C. character was named after series star Adam Brody’s then-Endeavor agent, Kevin Volchok – both of whom have since moved to UTA as well.

Fellow O.C. alum Bonnie Somerville has signed with APA. The actress played a lawyer who tried to seduce Sandy Cohen on the first season of the Fox nighttime soap. She has been a series regular on Golden Boy, Cashmere Mafia, Kitchen Confidential and NYPD Blue, where she played Det. Laura Murphy in the drama’s final season. Friends fans will remember her as Mona, one of Ross’ girlfriends. Somerville recently completed filming indie pic Pearly Gates opposite Orange Is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba and ER alum Scott Grimes, and she continues to perform as a singer/songwriter in Los Angeles.
42West Signs Two
Bob Odenkirk has signed with publicity firm 42West. The actor is currently shooting AMC’s Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff focused on his sleazy attorney Saul Goodman. He also recently played downtrodden characters on FX’s Fargo and Alexander Payne’s Nebraska. In comedy, Odenkirk won two Emmys with the writing staffs of The Ben Stiller Show and Saturday Night Live and also was nominated three times for his HBO sketch series with David Cross, Mr. Show with Bob and David.
42West also has signed Grace Gummer, who plays an android engineer on CBS’ Halle Berry summer series Extant and recurred on the second season of HBO’s The Newsroom as Jim’s journalist rival and eventual girlfriend. The actress made her professional debut with TeenNick’s meta-Hollywood dramedy Giganticand has since appeared in films including Frances Ha, The Homesman (opposite her mother, Meryl Streep) and Learning to Drive, as Patricia Clarkson’s daughter.

Gersh has signed Danish writer/director Kristian Levring. The filmmaker’s western The Salvation, starring Mads Mikkelson and Eva Green, recently sold multiple territory rights to Universal Pictures International. IFC is handling North American distribution for the movie, a surprise out of competition hit at Cannes. Levring’s other credits include 2008’s Fear Me Not, 2002’s The Intended and 2000’s The King is Alive, a French-English take on William Shakespeare’s King Lear.
