Getting in deep
UTA has signed Sicario: Day of the Soldado‘s Elijah Rodriguez, who plays Miguel, the American teen who gets drawn into trafficking. The 17-year-old’s only previous credit was voicing a young version of Channing Tatum’s character in Fox’s animated feature The Book of Life, and next he will star opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in the indie We Die Young, as a young gang member hoping his younger brother doesn’t follow in his footsteps. Rodriguez continues to be represented by AEFH Talent and Artistic Endeavors.

UTA also has hired agent Cass Scripps to its Nashville office. The 25-year veteran, who has worked with artists including Clint Black, Edwin McCain and Corey Smith, previously was vp of APA’s Nashville office and an agent at Buddy Lee Attractions, in addition to running his own Metro Talent Group and Consolidated Booking Services.
A national brand
IMG has signed Refinery29, which already is represented by WME, to an exclusive multiyear licensing deal. As its first global licensing rep, IMG will pursue opportunities in health and beauty, apparel and accessories, office and home, bedding and decor sectors. According to the brand’s proprietary research, more than 50 percent of Refinery29’s users have purchased an item because they saw it on the site.
Others on the dotted line
Persona PR has signed Q’orianka Kilcher, who was recently seen in Hostiles as well as TNT’s The Alienist, on which she plays Dr. Kreizler’s (Daniel Bruhl’s) housekeeper.

The production company’s roster of filmmakers includes David Leitch, James Mangold, Danny Cannon, Jason Farrand, Dan Gifford, Jabuka, Yann Secouet, Nigel Simpkiss and most recently Declan Lowney.
