The Revenant took home the Golden Globe for best motion picture, drama, on Sunday night.
The film beat out Carol, Mad Max: Fury Road, Room and perceived frontrunner Spotlight to win the award.
Harrison Ford presented the night’s final Globe to director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and the film’s castmembers. Lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio won the award for best actor in a motion, drama, earlier in the night.
Inarritu thanked “all the Native Americans who helped us make this film possible. I cannot say how surprised I am.”
Ricky Gervais hosted the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Jan. 10.
