Those crazy kids on ABC’s Revenge are professional schemers, plotting vengeance on those who have wronged them, no matter what the consequences. But instead of going behind each others’ backs to fight it out, what if they just threw paint at each other?
The result would be basically what celebrity photographer Tyler Shields created in his Chromatic series, covering stars Emily VanCamp, Joshua Bowman, Ashley Madekwe and Gabriel Mann in colorful paint for this dynamic photoshoot.
The Hollywood Reporter hosts an exclusive image here of VanCamp — who plays revenge-thirsty lead Emily Thorne — with her on- and off-screen boyfriend Bowman, who plays wealthy heir to the throne, Daniel Greyson.
“Someone one day told me I don’t use a lot of colors in my work and I started thinking how would I do something with color and this came to me as the perfect solution,” Shields told THR about his decision to create such an explosion of color for this collection.
As for working with the cast of the sexy ABC drama, he says everyone was game for getting dirty.
“They wanted to throw it, they wanted to be covered in it,” Shields says. “Some of them even drove home like this, which I thought was hilarious.”
VanCamp and Bowman, who have been dating since early 2012, will reprise their roles when season three premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30, on ABC. Shields says their off-screen romance was an added bonus for the photoshoot.
“Chemistry is always key to these things,” says Shields. “Josh is so game and so awesome to work with, and Emily has a very clear understanding of how to make a great shot, so with them together it’s pretty easy to get something great.”
