Rhys Ifans, Lucy Punch, Ahna O’Reilly and Jake Hoffman have joined the cast of Squirrels to the Nuts, a ensemble comedy being directed by Peter Bogdanovich.
Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Kathryn Hahn, Will Forte, Cybill Shepherd, Austin Pendleton and George Morfogen already are in the cast for the film about a married Broadway director (Wilson) who meets a call girl and tries to convince her to change her life.
Ifans plays a movie star being directed by the helmer and who has the hots for the director’s wife (Hahn). Punch will play an Eastern European escort while O’Reilly is a reformed escort. Hoffman is making a cameo as a member of the staff of the hotel at which the director and his wife stay.
Lagniappe is financing the picture, which just began shooting in New York. Red Granite is handling international sales.
Holly Wiersma, Logan Levy and George Drakoulias are producing. Noah Baumbach and Wes Anderson also are producers. Louise Stratten, Rob Barnum, Jacob Pechenik, Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman, Cassian Elwes and Jeff Rice are exec producing.
Ifans was last seen on the big screen as the Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man and appears on CBS’ Elementary. He is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Punch is a British actress best know for her work opposite Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher. She is repped by WME and the Schiff Company.
O’Reilly, repped by WME, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Felker Toczek, is currently on screens in the indie hit Fruitvale Station while Hoffman, the son of Dustin Hoffman, will be seen with Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. He is repped by WME and Generate.
