At this point the symbiosis between high fashion and streetwear is well established. There is nothing crazy about Givenchy’s creative director designing sneakers for an accessible global brand like Nike, just as it seems natural that Rihanna has collabed with Puma and Kanye West with Adidas.
Riccardo Tisci first partnered with NikeLab in 2014 to create his own version of the Air Force 1. Clearly both parties were happy with the result, because they’ve just revealed their second love child: the Nike Dunk Lux High.

Phase two of their collaboration comes in black leather with an oversized white swoosh. There’s no mistaking the branding on this $300 shoe-boot hybrid. The Givenchy designer told Vogue that working with Nike takes him to another place, different from his everyday reality.
“The opportunity makes a big statement. I think it’s a dream of any designer’s to be in everybody’s home,” he said. And it turns out he had personal experience to draw on. “The first pair of Dunks I had were white and red. I’ve been representing the brand for 25 years. I believe in the roots of the company, and always have.”
