Talk about double dose of fashion press.
Rihanna’s Harper’s Bazaar cover shot has just been released, teasing a candid interview about love and her career inside the August issue. Meanwhile, Vogue Italia just named the singer its 2012 Woman of the Year — for the second year in a row.
The singer was chosen once again for her “generosity, kind spirit and non-conformity” and for “constantly growing from an artistic point of view.”
Her fans, as they are wont to do, have been congratulating her on Twitter; despite the honor, the 24-year-old opens up to Harper’s about heartbreak and her wariness of romance.

“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love,” she says, making an apparent reference to Chris Brown. “The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”
She also calls her love life — at least during the time of the interview — “pretty much nonexistent. If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just — I don’t let people in.”
As for bringing her former boyfriend Brown into the remix of her song “Birthday Cake,” she wasn’t concerned about the backlash. “I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place.”
In the magazine’s fashion spread, Rihanna wears gowns by Tom Ford, Balmain, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to show off her sleeker shape. But she insists that she’s not dieting but, rather, “eating everything in life!”
“I miss my ass. It just went away! I need a butt. I have an idea of one, but it’s not living up to its full potential right now.”
