Robert De Niro has more than a few things to say about Donald Trump.
In a new video, the legendary actor takes aim at the GOP presidential candidate, calling him everything from “so blatantly stupid” to a “pig” a “punk” and a “dog.”
“He’s a national disaster,” says De Niro. “It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point that this fool, this bozo, has gotten where he has.”
He then adds, “He talks how he’d like to punch people in the face? Well, I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Urging people to vote, De Niro’s anti-Trump message was part of a political testimonial for the non-partisan #VoteYourFuture effort, but didn’t make the final cut. Megyn Kelly released the video on Friday’s Kelly File.
The video comes one day after the controversy surrounding the leaked Trump tape of the presidential candidate making crass comments about women, including Entertainment Tonight correspondent Nancy O’Dell, in 2005. After the media firestorm, Trump followed up his statement with a video apology late Friday night, saying: “I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more-than-a-decade-old video are one of them.”
De Niro’s message quickly picked up steam on Twitter on Saturday morning.
“Yes. In some alternate dimension my mother is smiling,” posted De Niro’s Meet the Fockers son-in-law, Ben Stiller.
“Forget debates. I wanna Trump vs DeNiro cage match,” wrote Denis Leary.
