Robert Zemeckis‘ Paramount drama Flight — starring Denzel Washington as a troubled pilot — will open nationwide in the heart of awards season on Nov. 2, 2012.
Paramount is so keen on the commerical playability of Barbra Streisand-Seth Rogen comedy The Guilt Trip, directed by Anne Flectcher, that it’s moving that film from Nov. 2 to Christmas Day.
Guilt Trip is a road-trip pic about an inventor (Rogen) who invites his mother (Streisand) on a cross-country trip as he tries to push a new product and reunite with an old flame.

Flight marks Zemeckis’ first return to live-action movie since Cast Away and What Lies Beneath, both released in 2000. Flight, also starring Kelly Reilly and Don Cheadle, is about the troubling personal discoveries that follow a pilot’s emergency landing.
