Today marks the one-year anniversary of Robin Williams‘ death after the actor tragically committed suicide on Aug. 11, 2014.
Williams’ friends, loved ones and admirers are taking to social media to remember the actor. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who starred opposite Williams on the television show The Crazy Ones, paid tribute to him on Instagram by sharing a photo of the park bench Williams sat on during a memorable scene in Good Will Hunting.
Her caption read, “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better wether [sic] by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded” #Emerson You succeeded RW #RobinWilliams”
Gellar wasn’t the only star thinking of Williams this week. John Stamos, Margaret Cho and others from the entertainment industry spoke about the actor on social media.
Here’s what they had to say.
“Dear money, send mom” Robin Williams. The first autograph I ever got. You are missed Robin. #RobinWilliams
