Rodarte is changing things up for fashion week.
A rep for the L.A.-based label, helmed by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, confirm Wednesday that it’s exchanging its usual New York Fashion Week runway slot for a private presentation in Paris for the fall 2017 season. A date has yet to be announced.
Rodarte will be moving its spring 2018 show to Paris in July to align with Couture Week. From there, Rodarte will continue to show its main collections in January and July so that the designers will have more time to produce its clothing for its retail partners, which include Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills and Bergdorf Goodman in New York, as well as ModaOperandi.com and Fwrd.com.
Rodarte also confirmed the increase in the number of collections it will produce each year, bumping it up to a total of three instead of two. The third collection is said to include more “lifestyle” items, including leather goods and trousers, according to Business of Fashion.
Rodarte most recently partnered with H&M’s sister store, & Other Stories, and is working with Coach on a capsule collaboration. The Rodarte x Coach collection will be available April 2017 at Coach stores and specialty retailers and Coach.com.
In addition to their fashion ventures, Kate and Laura, whose whimsical red-carpet designs have been seen on Brie Larson, Ruth Negga, Natalie Portman and more, are also working on their first feature film, entitled Woodshock, which will star Kirsten Dunst.
