Romany Malco has signed on to join Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique and Jessie T. Usher in A Meyers Christmas.
The Universal and Will Packer Productions holiday film centers around an estranged family that is forced to come together for their first Christmas since the death of the family matriarch.
The ensemble cast also includes Kimberly Elise, Nicole Ari Parker and Omar Epps.
Baggage Claim writer-director David E. Talbert, who wrote the script, will direct the holiday film. Universal has slated A Meyers Christmas for release on Nov. 11, 2016.
Will Packer will produce through his Universal-based Will Packer Productions, while Lyn Sisson-Talbert and Preston Holmes will executive produce alongside James F. Lopez, head of motion pictures at Will Packer Productions. Union and Jeff Morrone also are executive producing.
Kristin Lowe and Chloe Yellin will oversee A Meyers Christmas for the studio.
Malco is currently starring on Amazon’s new series Mad Dogs, which will debut in 2016. His previous credits include feature films 40 Year-Old Virgin, Think Like A Man and Think Like A Man Too and TV series Weeds and Blunt Talk. He’s repped by The Kohner Agency, Principato Young Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.
