Ron Howard is putting Conyers Farm Estate on the market for $27.5 million. The Academy Award-winning director has owned the 32-acre property with his wife Cheryl for 20 years.
“We moved 3,000 miles away from the hub of Los Angeles, to raise our family here,” said Howard, 60, in a statement. “Whether we’re watching films in our theater, walking the trails throughout our property, star gazing in our observatory, or just relaxing with friends and loved ones by the lake, Cheryl and I feel we’ve accomplished the goals we set when we began work on this place. Our children are grown, so it’s time to move on, but the memories of this very special place will never leave us.”
Located on three lots on a gated community called Conyers Farm, which straddles the border of Greenwich Conn. and Armonk, NY, the lakefront estate features more than 17,200-square-feet of living space, including outdoor recreation areas, a working farm, a guest house, indoor sports complex, and an observatory.
The main home is a classic New England estate with six bedrooms, five full baths and four half baths. Also included is a private two-story library and office, a 14-seat theater, indoor saltwater pool, gym and yoga studio. The home also has an au pair suite with one bedroom and bath.
The grounds offer nature trails, extensive perennial gardens, a formal English garden, Koi pond with waterfall and pergola, a greenhouse and an organic raised bed vegetable garden. Livestock and horse barns, along with paddocks and a riding ring, offer conveniences for equestrian pursuits.
“This is a dream compound that took a little over ten years to build,” says Steve Sawaii, a sales associate affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Los Angeles, and a business consultant for the Howards who is the referring broker for the property. “One of the most exceptional aspects of it is that all of the structures have lake views. Overall, it’s an incredible family friendly estate.”
The listing agents are Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Lyn Stevens of Sotheby’s International Realty.
