A memorial for native New Yorker Ronni Chasen will be held Wednesday night at Michael’s in Manhattan, a restaurant staffer tells The Hollywood Reporter.
On Tuesday night, a small gathering of close friends was held at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
Chasen, 64, was gunned down early Tuesday morning in Beverly Hills after leaving an after-party for Burlesque, which she attended with her client Diane Warren. The Beverly Hills Police department told THR she crashed her Mercedes into a light pole near Sunset and Whittier at 12:28 a.m. It has been reported she was shot five times. An investigation is underway, and an autopsy is slated for Wednesday or Thursday, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirms to THR.
After hearing the news of Chasen’s death, a number of Hollywood players fondly remembered her.
“Ronni was a dear friend and cherished member of our community,” said Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures. “She was at our premiere last night and so full of her trademark energy and love of life. We are heartbroken, shocked and completely devastated.”
“I adored her,” said longtime Rogers & Cowan publicist Paul Bloch, who worked with Chasen during her decade at the company. “Wow, was she good. I liked her because she was very aggressive in a nice way. She fought so hard for her clients.”
