It’s been a busy year for Ryan Gosling, who stars in several films out this year (Crazy Stupid Love, Drive, The Ides of March). With the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed Drive hitting theaters Friday and the George Clooney-helmed political thriller The Ides of March coming soon, Gosling is experiencing a steady wave of press about his performances.
Last year, the actor was seen in Derek Cianfrance‘s Blue Valentine and Andrew Jarecki‘s All Good Things, the former of which gave co-star Michelle Williams her second Academy Award nomination.

Gosling plays an idealistic staff member, Stephen Meyers, in The Ides of March, out Oct. 7. He is exposed to corrupt politics during a run on the campaign trail. The movie, based on the play Farragut North by Beau Willimon, co-stars Clooney, Evan Rachel Wood, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright and Marisa Tomei.
Next up is The Place Beyond the Pines, which reunites Gosling with Blue Valentine director Cianfrance. Co-starring Bradley Cooper and Rose Byrne, the film centers on a motorcycle stunt rider who thinks about committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child, an act that puts him on a course with a cop-turned-politician.

The Gangster Squad is an upcoming crime drama, to be directed by Ruben Fleischer, with Gosling playing Sgt. Jerry Wooters. Emma Stone and Sean Penn are just some of the co-stars set for the film.
Gosling then reunites with Refn on Only God Forgives, in which Gosling plays Julian, an owner of a Thai boxing club that is a front for a drug smuggling operation. Kristin Scott Thomas also stars in the project, which will be distributed by FilmDistrict.
