International buyers are snapping up rights to Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut How to Catch a Monster. Sierra/Affinity, which is handling international sales, has sold more than 20 territories.
Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Saoirse Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith and Rob Zabrecky will star in the modern fantasy-drama, for which Gosling has also written the screenplay. Warner Bros. acquired U.S. rights to the project last week, before it headed off to the Cannes market. Principal photography will begin this month in Detroit.
