President Obama spoke there, Diane Keaton once lived there, and now, TV mastermind Ryan Murphy hopes to raise a family there.
The Glee creator invited The Hollywood Reporter inside his Beverly Hills home for its inaugural design issue, opening the doors to his offbeat and unique style. During a tour of the Spanish-style sanctuary, Murphy and designer Cliff Fong showed off ranch-inspired, period-correct furniture, contemporary art and photography and American Horror Story-worthy objects.

“I think people when they see my work think something that’s not really reflective of me,” Murphy tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I think when Glee came out everybody thought that I was this pop, Technicolor dude. And I really don’t like color in my life — I do in my work.”
Among the colorless highlights is Murphy’s personal collection of photographs, including black and white images of The Graduate, a young Barack Obama, Tom Hanks in a pumpkin head and a studly Richard Gere (Murphy describes the image as “my favorite photograph in the world that was ever taken”).
