TORONTO – Saad Siddiqui (Cosmopolis) and Israeli actor Oded Fehr (The Mummy) have jumped on board Inescapable, a thriller being directed by Ruba Nadda (Cairo Time).
They join a cast already unveiled that is led by Marisa Tomei, Fringe star Joshua Jackson and Alexander Siddig as the Canadian indie pic starts production through to March 12 in Canada, South Africa and Lebanon.
The indie project portrays a Syrian expatriate (Siddig) whose journalist daughter goes missing in Damascus.
He must return to his homeland to find her despite the risks, and he calls on a former lover (Tomei) for help.
Written and directed by Nadda, Inescapable is produced by Daniel Iron (The Bang Bang Club) and Lance Samuels.
Christine Vachon of Killer Films, Myriad Pictures’ Kirk D’Amico and Mark Slone of Alliance Films are executive producing.
Luc Montpellier is handling cinematography, with production design by Bobby Cardosa and editing by Teresa Hannigan (Cairo Time, Sabah).
Alliance Films will distribute Inescapable in Canada and is targeting a 2013 release. Foreign sales will be handled by Myriad Pictures.
