The shoes at Saturday evening’s SAG awards ranged from classic black pumps and peep-toes to adventurous platforms, and even a pair of very unexpected but major mules.

We saw metallic, satin, suedes, gold piping and hues from blush to blue to even green. Details like embroidered pink lips and mirror metallic rounded out the evening of varied, spirited footwear.
Here are our top 10 picks for the evening.
1. Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana Rancic, host of E! Live From the Red Carpet and co-Host of Fashion Police is always one of the first photographed on the carpet. This year she chose a fresh Gauri & Nainika black neoprene dress with flower detailing and paired it with Gianvito Rossi black suede stilettos.
Rancic gushed her love for these evergreen pumps, noting, “You can’t go wrong with a classic suede pump. This is a pump that I can literally go from the red carpet to sushi night with my husband in jeans and a T-shirt.” Her stylist Deb Waknin concurred, “A sexy classic pump always accentuates the dress and doesn’t take away from it. Gianvito Rossi always knows how to make a woman feel beautiful and sexy.”
2. Alicia Vikander

3. Sofia Vergara
PINK LADY: Sofia Vergara in Charlotte Olympia stilettos. (Photos: Getty Images, Charlotte Olympia)
Vergara’s Vera Wang fuchsia corseted number was highlighted by Charlotte Olympia blush platform stilettos from her “Kiss and Make Up” collection. The six-inch stilettos with exterior platform featured pink embroidered lips on the toe, adding a bit of whimsy and romance to her look.
4. Joanne Froggatt

Froggatt wowed in a Burberry stunner and gorgeous braid, and her shoes were the only mules on the red carpet — Giuseppe Zanotti navy python embossed “Coline” two-strap stiletto mules with a small platform. Stylist Brad Goreski, doing double duty as host of E! Live From the Red Carpet, summed up the shoe choice, “Joanne saw those shoes in a previous fitting and fell in love with them. When we found the Burberry gown she wore and discovered there was a slit, we knew she had to wear the shoe. It matched the beading perfectly and added a modern twist to an elegant gown.”
5. Claire Danes
FEELING BLUE: Claire Danes in Brian Atwood stilettos. (Photos: Getty Images, Saks Fifth Avenue)
Danes looked fresh and elegant in a two-tone blue Stella McCartney column dress with a plunging V and a train. Underneath her dress, the Homeland star added a pair of Brian Atwood “Oriana” metallic blue snake peep-toe stiletto sandals. Head-to-toe blue looks good on you, Claire!
6. Julie Bowen
CLASSIC COLOR: Julie Bowen in Christian Louboutin pumps. (Photos: Getty Images, Christian Louboutin)
Bowen always looks chic and on-point, and tonight was no different. Her Christian Louboutin “Lady Peep” six-inch stiletto platforms offered classic styling and maximum height with her elegant Kaufman Franco cream and black dress.
7. Saoirse Ronan

Ronan charmed her way down the red carpet in a slinky, yet innocent pink Michael Kors Collection dress and paired it with Giuseppe Zanotti pink sky-high mirror metallic platforms. A gun-metal, chunky five-and-a-half-inch heel added a lovely depth to the look.
8. Emily Robinson

Robinson, who plays young Ali on Transparent, paired an ethereal Antonio Grimaldi dress with Jerome C. Rousseau mirror metallic stiletto platforms in gold. With their adjustable double ankle strap, these beauties truly defined the ensemble, taking it from soft to fierce.
9. Gaby Hoffman
COLOR POP: Gaby Hoffman in Rachel Comey heels. (Photos: Getty Images, Rachel Comey)
Hoffman always brings her distinctly individual style to the carpet and tonight was no exception. Elegant in a custom Rachel Comey column sequined dress — that incidentally would change color at the touch of a hand — she paired the look with her favorite green Rachel Comey “Solitaire” d’Orsay heels (above similar style in silver, here) that she’s worn to the Independent Spirit Awards and premiere of Girls. An asymmetrical lob and gold disc earrings complemented the ensemble.
10. Eva Longoria

As usual, Longoria looked smoking hot in a revealing Julien Macdonald embellished olive green gown. A high slit in the rear of her gown gave just a peek at her sexy black satin “La Decouverte” sandals by the Parisian brand Olgana, which topped off the sultry, slinky look.
