“I thought, ‘Well, if you’re ever going to do [TV], this is the way to do it.’ It could all turn out to be the big bang that nobody heard around the world, but it felt to me like it was worth every ounce of risk,” says Spacey of signing on to do House of Cards for Netflix. He was photographed March 10 at Blixseth Mountain Park in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Kevin Spacey won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The House of Cards actor nabbed the honor over fellow nominees Steve Buscemi of Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage and True Detective‘s duo Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.
However, the lead actor of the Netflix series, portraying Francis Underwood climbing his way up The Hill, wasn’t present to accept the award.
Spacey’s win follows his victory in this category at the Golden Globes earlier this month. “I just want to be better, but this is very encouraging. Thank you very much,” he said when accepting that award.
