William H. Macy won the Screen Actors Guild Award on Sunday for best actor in a comedy for his role in Shameless.
“I’ve written so many great acceptance speeches that I never got to give, but not tonight,” he said as he collected the award.
Macy plays Frank Gallagher, the father of six children, on the Showtime series. This was Macy’s eighth SAG Award nomination and second win.
Also nominated in the category were Louis C.K., Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet and Jim Parsons.
The ceremony took place Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
