Sunday night’s Tony Awards were full of color, both bright and pale. Saoirse Ronan was one of the well-dressed actresses who opted for the latter, but even so her bright blue eyes stood out as the perfect accent for her blush-hued Stella McCartney gown.
Ronan’s makeup artist Talia Sparrow — who also works with Ruth Wilson and Martha Hunt — kept the cosmetics to a minimum, allowing her to “maintain that youthful look, while making her look modern, yet romantic.” To do that she started by perfecting her porcelain skin and making it super dewy and illuminated, as opposed to contoured.
To make Ronan’s piercing eyes truly pop, Sparrow used a complementary color: pink. “Saoirse can wear colors that not many people can get away with,” the makeup artist tells Pret-a-Reporter. “Between her makeup, hair and dress, it all works together in a very modern way.” She layered Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Seashell with the Pink Opal shade ($29) to create depth, and tight-lined the actress’s top lashes with Kajal D’Orient Eye Liner in Noir ($28), creating contrast.
Three coats of Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Supreme Lash Building Mascara ($26) finished off her bright eyes. Sparrow tied the head-to-toe look together with a flushed pout: Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Petal Pink ($28). Pretty-in-pink perfection.
