The Sarah Palin documentary The Undefeated will be released at AMC Theaters starting July 15.
The film was directed by Stephen K. Bannon, and independently financed by Victory Film Group and its partners. It chronicles the former Alaska Governor’s rise to national prominence as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate in 2008.
“AMC is committed to providing distinct content to diverse audiences across the United States,” said Nikkole Denson-Randolph, vp specialty & alternative content at AMC Theatres. “We are proud to consistently offer a wide variety of product to our guests.”
The public will also be encourage to vote on future theater locations that may screen The Undefeated through a dedicated cinedigm.com/theUndefeatedMovie website.
The Undefeated features interviews from Palin supporters, both residents of Alaska and conservative bloggers like Andrew Breitbart. Palin herself does not appear on camera to answer questions, but Real Clear Politics says she arranged interviews and access. Bannon also bought the audio rights to her memoir, Going Rogue, so that Palin’s voice narrates several scenes.
Bannon, who first gained the support of Palin after his Tea Party documentary Generation Zero broadcast on Fox News, intended to call it Take a Stand, which was Palin’s campaign slogan when she ran for governor in 2006. Instead, it became The Undefeated to make it sound more triumphant.
In addition to the AMC theatrical roll out, ARC Entertainment will handle the worldwide distribution. Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. is managing the digital theatrical release.
“The Undefeated is the ideal candidate for digital theatrical distribution,” stated Jonathan Dern, President of Cinedigm Entertainment Group. “Given Palin’s ardent following throughout the country, digital cinema allows us to be extremely precise and efficient in our distribution strategy, bringing this much-anticipated film directly to interested theater-goers.”
