Saved by the Bell actor Dustin Diamond was arrested in Wisconsin on Friday after an apparent altercation at a bar on Christmas Day.
The 37-year-old actor was charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct and use of a dangerous weapon, according to a City of Port Washington police department news release.
Diamond “had stabbed another male patron and left the bar in a white SUV with his 27-year-old girlfriend,” the department said in the statement. “Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and suspects and took both into custody. Further investigation revealed the suspects were in the Grand Ave. Saloon, where an altercation took place.”
“The altercation escalated to the point where a victim was stabbed by the 37-year-old suspect. The knife was recovered in his vehicle,” the statement read. The man who was stabbed was treated for “not life-threatening wounds.”
The news was earlier reported by WITI-TV FOX 6 News in Wisconsin.
A rep for Diamond did not immediately respond for a request for comment. The actor appeared in Ozaukee County court on Dec. 26.
Diamond portrayed the character “Screech” Powers in Saved by the Bell.
