Scripps Networks U.K. and EMEA has ordered new kitchen series The Big Eat for its Food Network channel. The original commission of 40 episodes of 30 minutes each, announced Monday, is the network’s largest to-date from a U.K. producer.
The show set to premiere Nov. 3. The Big Eat, produced by Sweet TV, will be presented by a variety of U.K. personalities who will welcome a selection of chefs to help create three recipes per show.

“The Big Eat is testament to the rapid growth that we have experienced across U.K. and EMEA,” said Nick Thorogood, Scripps U.K. & EMEA senior vp of content and marketing. “With our vast array of new commissions and the best mix of local and library content, we are confident that we have engaging channels that are locally balanced for differing audience needs.”
Earlier in the year, Scripps signed a programming deal with the U.K.’s Channel 4 to bring several popular TV chefs – including Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal – to the Food Network.
