As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, there have been a number of trends that have emerged from the runways: political statements in the form of tees and accessories; the color yellow (is it the La La Land effect?); power pantsuits and more. But those aren’t the only things that had people buzzing — at least, according to Captify, a London-based ad tech company specializing in search intelligence.
Analyzing over 30 billion consumer searches on Google, Bing, Amazon and other search engines, Captify was able to identify the models, designers and trends that got the biggest boost in search during NYFW. Social posts from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are not included in Captify’s data.

Not surprisingly, German designer Philipp Plein, who typically shows in Milan, and had a star-packed front row that included Madonna, Kylie Jenner, Tyga and Paris Hilton, was among one of the most searched designers during NYFW. Plein also received the biggest lift during NYFW, with a 5,738 percent increase in search, according to Captify. Plein clearly realized people’s curiosity as the cover of his show notes read: “Who the F— is Philipp Plein?”
