A day after Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney made their marriage official, images of the new Mrs. Clooney’s wedding gown have surfaced online — and it’s stunning. Alamuddin said “I do” in an ivory beaded-tulle Oscar de la Renta gown, despite earlier reports that the British-Lebanese human-rights lawyer would wed wearing an Alexander McQueen dress.
“George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can’t imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress,” Alamuddin told Vogue, which went behind the scenes for her final fitting with the New York-based red-carpet favorite fashion designer.
The couple celebrated with an extravagant wedding over the weekend at the seven-star Grande Aman Canal Venice hotel Saturday night with a star-studded guest list, which included Matt Damon, Bono, Cindy Crawford, Bill Murray and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Clooney’s longtime friend, Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome, officiated their marriage.
As indicated by the photos of Alamuddin’s wedding weekend of traveling around the Grand Canal in stylish ensembles (seen here and here), there’s no doubt that she would have settled for nothing less than a gorgeous bridal gown made by someone who wants to make women “feel simply beautiful.” Mission definitely accomplished.
