Ava DuVernay has signed with CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The Selma director had previously been repped at Paradigm.
DuVernay’s work on the 2014 Martin Luther King biopic earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best director. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards, for best picture and best original song, winning the prize for the latter.
DuVernay recently confirmed that she turned down an opportunity to direct star Chadwick Boseman in Marvel’s Black Panther, explaining that she and the producers “had different ideas” for the story.
“I loved meeting Chadwick and the writers and all the Marvel execs,” she told Essence. “In the end, it comes down to story, and we just didn’t see eye to eye. Better for me to realize that now than cite creative differences later.”
