Getty ImagesDirector Seth Gordon is staying in business with Universal Pictures.
After helming the hit comedy Identify Thief for the studio, Gordon has boarded the comedy-thriller One Night on the Hudson as a starring vehicle for his Horrible Bosses actors Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis.
Universal nabbed the spec by T.J. Fixman, which first made the rounds in 2011 but languished.

The story revolves around a by-the-books rookie cop on his first night on the job and his jaded veteran partner. The pair are tasked with transporting a federal witness from New Jersey to Manhattan. The only things standing between them: dirty cops, dirty criminals and the Hudson River.
Mary Parent and Cale Boyter are producing via Parent’s Disruption Entertainment banner. Scott Bernstein will oversee the project for the studio.
Gordon has been on a tear since he burst on the scene with the 2007 Slamdance documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Identity Thief marks his third film to cross the $100 million domestic box office threshold (joining Horrible Bosses and Four Christmases).
Gordon, Day and Fixman are repped by WME.

Gordon is also handled by Brillstein Entertainment and Warren Dern.
Day, who stars on, writes and exec produces FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is additionally represented by 3 Arts and attorney David Weber.
The CAA-repped Sudeikis, a Saturday Night Live castmember, also is set to co-star in Horrible Bosses 2 alongside Day. He next will appear in We’re the Millers opposite Jennifer Aniston. He is also managed by Brillstein.
Fixman, who has penned a number of video games, also is represented by Fourth Floor Producitons.
