Seth Rogen is among those taking shots at this weekend’s box-office champ American Sniper, which opened with a historic $105.3 million over the three-day Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.
The actor, whose latest film The Interview caused it’s own share of controversy, tweeted of the Clint Eastwood-directed film, which stars Bradley Cooper as accomplished marksman Chris Kyle, “American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that’s showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds.”

The actor later clarified on Twitter:
I just said something “kinda reminded” me of something else. I actually liked American Sniper. It just reminded me of the Tarantino scene.

I wasn’t comparing the two. Big difference between comparing and reminding. Apples remind me of oranges. Can’t compare them, though.

That movie in the Tarantino film was a Nazi propaganda film called Stolz der Nation (Nation’s Pride) that showed a German sniper killing Allied soldiers from a clock tower.
Rogen’s tweet comes on the heels of tweets from director Michael Moore that criticized snipers, without directly mentioning American Sniper. American Sniper is up for six Oscars including best picture and best actor for Cooper.
