Shaun White has signed with UTA in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard have exclusively learned. He previously was with CAA.
The world’s most famous snowboarder has two Olympic gold medals, from 2006 and 2010, and 18 medals from the Winter X Games to go with five additional medals for skateboarding at the Summer X Games. He will compete in his fourth Olympics at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
UTA had already been working with White on the traveling action sports and music festival Air + Style, of which White became a majority owner in 2015. The agency will continue to help grow the tour, held annually in Beijing, Austrian city Innsbruck and Los Angeles. The festival hopes to become an Olympic qualifying event because it features the high-flying big air snowboarding, which will debut as an official medal event in PyeongChang.
“I am very excited to begin a new chapter in my career and grow my various businesses with the team at UTA,” White, 30, said Wednesday in a statement. “I look forward to us working together to reach all of my goals.”
White’s other business interests include his long-standing partnership with Burton (which has sponsored him since the age of 7), his ownership of Mammoth Resorts (which includes Mammoth Mountain, Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and June Mountain) and his clothing line WHT Space. His brand endorsements have included Oakley, Red Bull, Target, Macy’s, Verizon go90, Ubisoft, American Express, AT&T, HP, Playstation, Stride Gum and BF Goodrich.
“Shaun is a living legend and world-renowned talent who has redefined the way the world looks at sports,” UTA partner and talent co-head Chris Hart and UTA television agent Ryan Hayden said in a joint statement. “His ability to connect with people is unparalleled and we are excited to continue to build his brand across all verticals.”
