To describe Shia LaBeouf in a phrase – “brutally honest” is right up there at top of the list.
The actor, who has infamously trashed several of his big budget films, opens up to Details about his less than rosy childhood and how it’s shaped him into Hollywood’s resident bad boy. Growing up with a heroin-addicted father, LaBeouf’s family dressed as clowns and sold ice shavings to make ends meet. After being “kicked out of every school I ever went to,” LaBeouf eventually landed a gig on Disney’s Even Stevens.

“They didn’t hire me because I was a good looking dude,” he says. “They hired me because I had no fear, no respect for authority, and no respect for boundaries.”
In the third installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, LaBeouf is paired with former Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The British beauty takes over the female lead role from Megan Fox, whom LaBeouf now admits was involved in more than just an on-screen romance.

“Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them,” he says of an off-screen fling with Fox. “I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry on screen.”
When asked about Fox’s status at the time with now-husband Brian Austin Green, LaBeouf adds “It was what it was.”
The actor also admits to “philandering around” with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen co-star Isabel Lucas on the night that he famously rolled his truck. She was in a relationship with Entourage star Adrian Grenier.
