NEW DELHI – Silver Linings Playbook, directed by David O. Russell, will open the 14th Mumbai Film Festival which runs Oct. 18-25. Playbook – which started generating awards buzz after it picked up the audience choice nod at Toronto – stars veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher alongwith Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro.
Adapted from the Matthew Quick novel of the same name, Playbook will see its Asian premiere at MFF with Kher presenting the film at the opening function.
“On behalf of (producers) the Weinstein Co., David O Russell, Robert DeNiro, Bradley Cooper, Jeniffer Lawrence, Chris Tucker and other cast and crew, I feel honoured to present Silver Linings Playbook as the opening film. As an actor it is a dream come true to be part of this brilliant and heart warming film. A great moment of joy and pride for me,” said Kher.Playbook revolves around lead character Pat Solatano (Cooper) who loses everything and has to rebuild his life. Kher plays Pat’s therapist.
