The final shot of Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in the second theatrical trailer of The Silver Linings Playbook finds the recently-released psychiatric patient and the depressed widow tenatively holding hands. “Wait, what’s this,” he observes. “I thought you were doing it,” she replies.

Playbook, a Weinstein Co. film, has already snagged an audience award at the Toronto International Film Festival and is an early Oscar contender heading into the fall moviegoing season.
The teaser focuses on the backstory of Cooper’s character, Pat Solatano, who suffers a breakdown when he arrives home and finds his wife with another man. “So, yeah, I snapped,” Solatano explains. The chemistry that emerges between Pat and Tiffany (Lawrence) is also on display, set to the catchy Lumineers song, “Hey Ho”.

Playbook is scheduled for wide release on Nov. 21 — a pre-Thanksgiving slot that also includes releases of the literary adaptation Life of Pi, actioner Red Dawn and the animated title, Rise of the Guardians.
