LONDON – Irish actor Simon Delaney will host the ninth Annual Irish Film & Television Awards, organizers said Friday.
Delaney will host the shindig for the second successive year at the awards to be dished out Feb. 11 in Dublin, Ireland, by the Irish Film and Television Academy.
Delaney said: “We [in Ireland] are all working to promote our business internationally and the IFTAs are our international calling card, we can stand behind this event and say, ‘look at this room, look who we have here, this is our creative industry – this is Ireland!”
Delaney’s recent screen credits includes a turn opposite Juliana Margulies and Eddie Izzard in The Good Wife.
The nominees for the Irish Film & Television Awards will be announced Jan. 10, 2012.
