The stars of “Sister Wives” are probably reconsidering allowing TLC cameras into their home.
Police in Lehi, Utah, where they live, confirmed Monday that they are investigating the family, which consists of salesman Kody Brown, his four wives and their 13 children, for felony bigamy.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, the evidence will be forwarded to the Utah County Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution,” Lt. Darren Paul told People magazine.
Police decided to open the case in light of the publicity the show has generated. Bigamy is a third-degree felony in Utah, but is rarely prosecuted.
The show premiered Sunday.
