Saturday Night Live unearthed several classic sketches for its 40th anniversary special Sunday night.

But the show also showed a supercut of auditions from former castmembers, including Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Dana Carvey and Phil Hartman — some of which featured characters that would go on to become recurring SNL characters.

The audition videos also includes some stars who didn’t make the cut for the show.
