This weekend Saturday Night Live hosted a 3½-hour star-studded special to celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary. Old characters met new as the funny women and men of SNL got together to reprise their roles and honor the show’s last four decades. Here’s a look at some of the best moments from the night:
10. Zach Galifianakis introduces Andy Samberg‘s latest short, called “That’s When You Break,” co-starring Adam Sandler.
9. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin pay tribute to Tracy Morgan in a bittersweet moment for the show.
8. “The Californians” sketch was chock-full of big names like Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Kerry Washington and Taylor Swift, but the part that has everyone still talking is Bradley Cooper‘s make-out session with Betty White.
7. Edward Norton can’t really be Stefon without the help of Bill Hader and Seth Meyers.
6. Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake put the show’s most well-known catchphrases to music for the anniversary’s opening.
5. The audition reel not only featured SNL castmember auditions, but it also gave fans a look at some familiar faces who didn’t make the cut.
4. “Wayne’s World” returned just in time to mock Kanye West and throw out some really nice impressions.
3. Maya Rudolph‘s Beyonce returned and it was fabulous.
2. Bow down to Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Jane Curtin, who made a great “Weekend Update” team. Melissa McCarthy stopped in as Matt Foley to top it off.
1. Will Ferrell is Alex Trebek, Kate McKinnon is Justin Bieber and Kenan Thompson is Bill Cosby. No other words needed to explain why this is a must-see.
