Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson shared a heartfelt farewell message to departing castmember Bobby Moynihan on Friday night ahead of the sketch show’s season 42 finale.
“Tomorrow is our last show together. It breaks my heart. When I became a cast member you were really there for me and such a pal. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without you,” Davidson captioned a photo of himself and Moynihan together.
“Over the past few years we’ve become great friends and I’m honored to have met you and have you in my life. You’re one of the funniest people I know and I’ll never forget the time we spent together on floor 17.”

Moynihan, who joined SNL in 2008 and played numerous recurring characters such as Drunk Uncle and Ass Dan, will be exiting after nine seasons on the show to topline the upcoming CBS sitcom Me, Myself and I. The single-camera comedy, which will follow one man’s life across a 50-year span, was picked up by the network last week.
The actor will join his SNL castmembers for a final show on May 20. Ahead of the finale, Moynihan commemorated the cast’s final pitch meeting by posting a photo to his Instagram of everyone (including host Dwayne Johnson) seated on the floor of Lorne Michaels’ office.
