Goodbye, Hoboken; hello, Jersey City.
While the New Jersey town of Hoboken rejected MTV’s request to film a Jersey Shore spinoff co-starring Snooki and Jenni “JWoww” Farley, nearby Jersey City has welcomed the hard-partying reality stars with open arms.
“We look forward to bringing the production to Jersey City and both Snooki and JWoww are happy to know they’ll be filming in their favorite state once again,” MTV said Thursday in a statement to THR.
Last week, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer denied MTV permission to shoot there, saying in a letter that “any attempts to film in a manner that is not permitted without a permit will be dealt with immediately and aggressively by the City of Hoboken.” Her concerns: “public safety and quality of life.”

But in a diplomatic response, a spokesperson for 495 Productions, which is producing the spinoff, told THR: “We appreciate the consideration by Hoboken’s Mayor, Chief of Police, and Film Commission of our application for a permit to shoot Snooki and JWoww’s spinoff in Hoboken. We hope to find a way to work together in the future.”
The Jersey Shore party girls aren’t the only original cast members to get a show: on Wednesday, MTV announced its Pauly D spinoff, The Pauly D Project, will debut March 29 behind the premiere of the revamped version of Ashton Kutcher‘s Punk’d, featuring Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and other stars.
