Snoop Lion (nee Dogg) has announced that RCA Records will release his reggae album, Reincarnated.
A musical companion to the VICE Films/Snoopadelic Films documentary of the same name, Reincarnated was produced by Diplo and production team Major Lazer and recorded in Jamaica. The album is slated for a Spring 2013 release in conjunction with VICE Music and Mad Decent and via Snoop’s production company, Berhane Sound System.

A new track from the album, “Here Comes The King,” featuring Angela Hunte, was just released. It follows the song “La La La,” which debuted in July ahead of Reincarnated’s official showing at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival
Snoop’s trip to Jamaica was life-changing, the rapper has said in a series of interviews, among them: a Hollywood Reporter cover story. Further explaining the new track, Snoop added in a statement: “Major Lazer and I had a special opportunity to focus on recording Reincarnated from top-to-bottom with no interruptions in Jamaica. From my time spent with the people and in the streets, these songs are based on peace, love, and the struggle. … Bless up.”
According to RCA, the full Reincarnated multi-media project is set to roll out in the beginning of 2013.
