Alyssa Milano’s social media #SexStrike earns the actress her first top five on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Actors chart since February, re-entering at No. 5 on the May 22-dated tally.
THR’s Social Climbers charts are rankings of the most popular entities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart’s methodology blends engagement to entities’ social media accounts along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended May 14.
Milano’s May 10 tweet, in which she called for a #SexStrike “until women have legal control over our own bodies,” protesting legislative attempts to ban or restrict abortions in the U.S., helped her to a 310 percent boost in overall social engagement. “Not one uterus,” she added May 14.

Four spots above Milano, Dwayne Johnson again leads the Top Actors list, while Ellen DeGeneres and Kevin Hart rule Top TV Personalities and Top Comedians, respectively. DeGeneres in particular holds off a charge from Tyra Banks; the America’s Got Talent host scores 4.3 million Instagram favorites comes due to her posting of multiple photos — including the cover — from her 2019 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue shoot. “This is for everybody that has been told that they are not good enough because of their body, their age, their everything,” Banks wrote.
On the TV side, Riverdale ends Game of Thrones’ multi-week run at No. 1 on Top Scripted, moving from No. 2 to No. 1. The teen drama aired the penultimate episode of its third season on May 8, and its top Instagram post (508,000 favorites) wished its followers a Happy Mother’s Day.
Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live and World of Dance lead Top News/Talk/Variety and Top Unscripted for the second week in a row, respectively.
