Schitt’s Creek reaches No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Scripted chart for the first time, thanks to the show’s runaway success at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 20.
THR’s Social Climbers charts are rankings of the most popular entities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVP. The chart’s methodology blends engagement to entities’ social media accounts along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Sept. 22.
Schitt’s Creek rules the Sept. 30-dated Top Scripted list after sweeping each of the top four acting categories in the comedy category at the Emmys ceremony, plus the coveted outstanding comedy series trophy.

The Pop TV series, which ended in early April after six seasons, recorded gains in all social metrics, led by 3.4 million Instagram favorites, up 3,781%, and 982,000 Twitter likes, a boost of 3,239%.
Additionally, show co-creator and co-star Dan Levy launches onto Top Actors for the first time, bowing at No. 10. Levy’s leap is also due to Emmys buzz; he was awarded outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series and also earned nods for outstanding directing for a comedy series (alongside Andrew Cividino) and outstanding writing for a comedy series.
Levy’s overall social metrics for the week: 1.8 million Instagram favorites and 1.3 million Twitter likes, plus 98,000 new Instagram followers and 83,000 new Twitter followers.
