The Social Network earned eight nominations, including best picture, but Garfield was left out of the best supporting actor category.

David Fincher‘s The Social Network and The King’s Speech swept the board at the 31st London Film Critics’ Circle Awards, dished out Thursday evening in the British capital.
The Social Network took the highest honor: film of the year. Fincher took director of the year, British actor in a supporting role went to the picture’s Andrew Garfield and screenwriter of the year was dished out to Aaron Sorkin.
The King’s Speech’s regal awards march continued with a best actor nod for Colin Firth, British director of the year for the title’s Tom Hooper and The Attenborough Award for British film of the year.
Held in aid of the BFI Archive, the LFCC awarded Lesley Manville as British actress of the year for her turn in Mike Leigh‘s Another Year.
Best actress went to Annette Bening for her role in The Kids Are All Right and Christian Bale won best British actor for The Fighter. Olivia Williams picked up the British actress honor in a supporting role for The Ghost Writer.
