The Interview hit the Internet this morning and experienced a few glitches on its way to people’s screens.
Sony announced earlier today that it would distribute the Seth Rogen and James Franco film via YouTube, Google Play, Xbox and its own website, SeeTheInterview.com. The third-party distributors appeared to launch the film without problems, but Sony’s website, which was powered by Kernel and payments platform Stripe, experienced intermittent delays for the first 30 minutes.

A number of people complained on Twitter that they were unable to load SeeTheInterview.com and many posted photos of the error messages they received. Others were able to load the website but were not given the option to pay to stream the film. Those problems appeared to be resolved resolved around 10:30 am PT.
According to the site’s frequently asked questions, the film can be purchased only with a U.S. credit card at the current time. The site also said that credit card data would be “stored securely by Stripe.”
Sony did not respond to a request for comment.
The Interview became available to stream at 10 am PT on Dec. 24. Viewers can rent the film for $5.99 or purchase it in HD for $14.99. It will be released in a limited number of theaters on Dec. 25.
