Spike Jonze has taken home the best original screenplay Oscar for Her.
The writer-director thanked those who helped him make the film, saying “I’m up here with all of my friend and family who support me and help me make what we make.”
“We made a movie about relationships and intimacy, and that’s what we we share together,” Jonze said of his collaborators.
Host Ellen DeGeneres joked about Jonze after his win.
“He’s a former skateboarder,” she said. “He’s a guy who has hit his head against concrete countless times. So it’s amazing what he’s accomplished.”
